You can, WITH NO EXPENSES AND WITHOUT ANY ENGAGEMENT from your part, evaluate your knowledge and level of french as a second language (FSL) and try to assign yourself a level within the following 8 levels, as prepared for you by ITCM :

Level - 1 : Beginner - Has little or no knowledge of the English language and knows only a few basic words and phrases. Can't understand the spoken language at all..
Level - 2 : Elementary - Can communicate using very simple phrases. Has limited vocabulary and understands a little conversational language.
Level - 3 : Lower Intermediate - Can take part in a variety of conversational subjects using basic structures and vocabulary with acceptable accuracy. Can understand most conversation when conducted slowly and clearly.
Level - 4 : Intermediate - Has better control of structures and a practical and useful vocabulary. Errors are still frequent. Demonstrates a good understanding of the language and abilities to get the gist of rapid speech.
Level - 5 : Upper Intermediate- Wide range of structures used with fair degree of accuracy. Some typical errors still prevailing. Good overall comprehension and wide vocabulary.
Level - 6 : Advanced basic - Communicates very well using most structures accurately. Can talk about a wide range of topics using appropriate vocabulary and using some idiomatic language.
Level - 7 : Advanced with ease - Is looking for stronger vocabulary and better and more fluently speech.
Level - 8 & Final : Highly advanced- Is after naintaing his level score and after improving his pronunciation, his reading speed and more sophisticated range of vocabulary.
